Cultivation Projects For Sea And Ocean Regions
The world is experiencing a drastic reduction of its fishing resources. This is due to climatic changes, erosion and human activities in connection with pollution and bottom trawling. Today large areas have become sea deserts and fish and other marine life forms do not find enough sanctuaries and food. Areas must therefore be allocated for cultivating projects and for habitats and sanctuaries for fish and other marine life forms.
- Cultivating projects for areas with restrictions on use:
In many regions areas may be found where fisheries and other marine activities are restricted by regulations. This may include areas set aside for cultivation of fish and other marine life forms, military areas, ocean breeding grounds, areas for fish production plants etc. Many of these areas may provide opportunities for a varied marine biological life. This may implemented by creating larger breeding areas and more sanctuaries. Both Runde habitat and Grip erosion protection are suitable for these purposes. - Windmill parks have areas which should be used for cultivation projects for fish and other marine life forms:
We are here talking about large regulated areas where cultivating projects may easily be implemented. Such are usually situated in shallow waters where it should prove simple to produce vegetation growth on artificial habitats which then in turn will attract fish and other marine life forms. Runde habitat, Grip erosion protection and Svenner Reef are all well suited for this purpose. Runde habitat may provide for habitats between the windmills, while Svenner Reef may be used to cover cables in the areas. - Areas around pipe and cable lines may provide habitats for fish and other marine life forms:
Many areas are today closed for use of bottom fishing equipment as pipe and cable lines cross the areas. These areas may be cultivated through installation of artificial habitats. - Offshore installations and surrounding areas may provide habitats for fish and other marine life forms:
Experience shows that fish has already discovered these installations and their use as habitats and hiding places. We are here talking about large regulated areas. A way of making a better use of these areas to provide breeding opportunities for fish and other marine life forms should therefore be considered. - Limitation of erosion may create lagoons as habitats for fish and other marine life forms:
When making use of Grip erosion protection to limit erosion around offshore installations, the areas between the installations may become lagoons with reduction in the power of currents. Instead of erosion around the installations, accumulation of masses and reduced effects of sea forces may be achieved, thus creating adequate habitats and hiding places for fish and other marine life forms.
